Ph.D. Meeting 2008

Date: October 23, 2008
Time: 9:30 - 12.30
Location: Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW)
Organization: Joachim Rozemeijer, Martijn Westhoff, and Dimmie Hendriks

The Boussinesq PhD meeting aims at bringing together young hydrology researchers from universities and research institutes in the Netherlands to discus current research questions in hydrology.

The meeting will be interactive and based on a questionnaire that will be emailed to you before the meeting. Hydrological case studies will be explored in groups and presented at the end of the meeting.

The results of the Ph.D. meeting can be found here.

Ph.D. Meeting 2007

Date: October 22, 2007
Time: 10.00 - 12.30
Location: Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW)

Collaboration between different hydrological research groups in the Netherlands has been formalized through establishment of the Boussinesq Center. Within this framework, joint lectures, master classes, summer schools and symposia have been organized and the research leaders have had frequent contact. On a operational basis, however, the research of the universities/institutes has been conducted primarily separate from the other members. To promote the joint research activities between Boussinesq members, a meeting  has been scheduled for Ph.D candidates to broaden their view on hydrological research in the Netherlands, and to ultimately formulate a scientific basis for an enhanced cooperation in research projects among the members.

The meeting will take place on October 22nd in the morning prior to the Boussinesq lecture. The idea of this workshop is to encourage the exchange of ideas between the Ph.D candidates from the different member organizations. The meeting will take place in the form of a workshop, focusing on the formulation of an virtual hydrological field experiment. Through interaction among participants with different backgrounds and disciplines, the experiment will be designed, defining science objectives, types of field measurements, requirements for the study area and observation period.

For this workshop, a large number of participants is required from all Boussinesq member organizations. Therefore, the organization of the workshop would like to know how many people are going to attend. If you are interested, please sign up by clicking the link below.
